What is Vietnam visa exemption?

Vietnam visa exemption (also called visa waiver or visa-free policy) is Government’s policy when a foreigner can enter and stay in Vietnam for a certain period of time without applying for a visa and paying related visa fees. Accordingly, foreigners must be citizens of one of the 25 countries eligible for Vietnam visa exemption and comply with the attached conditions.

List of countries with visa exemption

In regard to Resolution No. 32/NQ-CP issued on 15 March 2022, there are a total of 25 countries that are exempted from the Vietnam visa. Foreigners just need an ordinary passport which is valid for 6 months minimum and includes 2 blank pages for the stamp. Besides, Vietnam supports many other foreigners with diplomatic passports to enter Vietnam without a visa.

Vietnam ETA is an Electronic Travel Authorization to enter Vietnam for Tourism purpose. Applicants can obtain Vietnam Electronic Travel Visa by completing a simple and easy eVisa application online.

It is mandatory for passport to be vaild for 6 months from the date of arrival. Please check list of country eligible for Vietnam ETA before applying.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR VIETNAM VISA

All applicants from eligible country can apply for Vietnam visa if they have passport which is valid for minimum 6 months from the date of arrival. Passport must have 2 blank pages.

In some cases Digital passport photo is required. Photo must have plain background and can be taken using phone or any camera.

Image of the bio page of the passport is required to ensure all details on the visa letter is correct to avoid issues on arrival;

Only in case of business visa, immigration team might ask for business invitation-letter or Buiness card.

Travelers will be denied entry in case they do not provide either a negtive PCR test or Vaccination Certificate.
